The holy month of Ramadan is upon us! And boy has it arrived in the midst of summer!

Still, the believers are steadfast, and nothing in the world can shake their faith.

In the next thirty days to come, 1 billion people around the world will follow the routine of Sehri early in the morning and Iftar in the evening, when they will keep and break their fasts respectively.

And this pattern will continue, leading to the grand festival of Eid ul Fitr at the end of Ramadan.

So here it was deemed imperative to deliver some of the best Ramadan apps for Android.

Ramzan Alarm 2015

This is a simple alarm app built especially for Ramadan of 2015.

It is basically an alarm app for Sehr and Iftar times. The app automatically detects your location and show you the Sehr and Iftar times. All you have to do is to hit the ‘set alarm’ button and set an alarm.

This is a perfect app for those who just want to be reminded of the Sehr and Iftar times without much fuss. So go ahead and give it a try, if you are the type.

Ramadan 2015

This is a feature packed app with everything you would want in a Ramadan labelled app. In fact, it is one of the best Ramadan apps for Android.

On launching the app, it shows you the Sehr and Iftar time upfront. A red, bell shaped button on top can be pressed to set the alarms for these times.

Other than that, it also features, Prayer timings, Ramadan timings of the entire month, Qibla compass, Ramadan duas, 99 names of Allah, calendar and converter.

The app is beautifully designed and boasts a modern design. Navigation is also pretty simple through a sliding drawer from the left.

Although, one thing which really annoyed me was the full size Ads that covered the screen from time to time, despite the fact that a constant Ad banner is present at the bottom of the app.

If you can handle the Ads or pay for the pro version and get rid of them, this is one of the best Ramadan apps on the Play Store right now.

Ramadan 2015

This is a very good app to have as a companion to your fasting journey.

The app brings to the plate a lot features such a Sehr and Iftar times as well as the time left in the Sehr and Iftar, which gives another dimension to the whole fasting as you can see

down to the seconds, the time left before you can break your fast.

Other features include Ramadan calendar, Ramadan wallpapers, Ramadan blessings, Prayer timings and Ramadan Dua.

One interesting feature is the Ramadan recipes which are bundled with the app. It includes, Arabian, Chinese, Indian and Pakistani recipes complete with ingredients and preparation.

As you can see, it covers almost every aspect of fasting in Ramadan down to the recipes which can come in handy if you are fond of cooking as you can try out some different meals from the long list that it boasts.

Anyhow, this app also contains full size Ads which can be annoying at times, so you will have to deal with them if you don’t want to pay for it.

Ramadan Duas & Azkar 2015

This is quite an unusual app as it doesn’t have any Ramadan timings or alarms.

However, it focuses on other aspects of this holy month such as the introduction to the month of Ramadan and Duas that should be recited on each day of this month.

It also features Duas for each Ashra of Ramadan as well as for the Laila tul Qadr. It doesn’t stop there, you can also listen to the audio of these Duas.

The app itself is very simple and pleasing to the eye. Navigating around is not a hassle as you can swipe right or left in different tabs of the app.

If you are looking for a source to gather as many blessings as you can during Ramadan, here is an app for you.

And again this app features full screen size Ads and you will have to pay to get rid of them.

Ramadan Cuisine

As the name of the app is self explanatory, there is a little I can say about it.

It has a huge collection of recipes best suited for Ramadan. You can select from several categories such as Appetizers, Soups, Main courses, Desserts and Beverages.

You can also favorite any recipe that you like and be able to find it easily later. Just press the heart shaped button on the top left of each recipe.

Once you open up a recipe, only then can you appreciate how much effort was put into making this app and how good it has turned out to be.

For each recipe, it gives you the approximate time period each recipe will take as well as the number of servings. The best part is that you can change the number of servings and then recalculate; the app will provide you with the matching ingredients. However, I wasn’t able to make it work on each recipe.
